Hannah McDonald
I have so much news, I hardly know where to begin!!
Things have been very busy lately. Since joining the Girls Home and School team,
I have been involved in many areas of the work here and am learning so much!
I feel like I'm sticking my finger in every pot...
I'm managing the group finances, helping to bring a higher level of organization
to our office, evaluating different areas of the work, and helping build
and strengthen the network of groups and diferent works that are connected to us.
I am also working with the team to process applications for the School, making phone
calls to leaders and applicants, typing and sending letters and other information
to the candidates, and spending time in prayer for the upcoming session.
It is our desire and prayer that every person in India hears the Good News!
From August to December, we will train around 50 people who feel a call of God
on their lives to reach this nation and the world with the Good News. With over 1 billion people and the highest number of unreached people groups, India needs laborers that are well equipped with the Knowledge and the Spirit to reap the vast harvest! Pray with us for wisdom as we go through applications. Pray also for the students- that they would come with hunger for the word, passion for souls, and that every need would be supplied from train fares, to tuition and every thing in between!
The past 2 weeks I have been able to spend a few hours each day at our girls home.
After the girls finished school for the day, I would go with them to their home
and spend time visiting and playing with them. We would wash up and have a
snack, then spend some time playing outside. They are each so beautiful and special!!
I was blessed to have the opportunity to sow into their lives by helping them
with their reading and spoken English skills (see pictures below).
I know that God has great plans for them and am thankful that they are part of my life.
In other news... My 21st birthday is this month and I refuse to celebrate the typical American way.
Tomorrow morning I will leave for Nepal where I will experience many things that are
very new for me. I am going to stay in a refugee camp where my friend lives.
In this place there is no electricity and no running water.
The Bhutanese refugees live in bamboo huts, with the average hut housing about 5 people.
My friend has arranged a youth meeting for Saturday (youth here means aged about 18-25).
I will teach the Word to these hungry young people!! Then again on Sunday morning they
have asked me to give the Word in the Sunday service. I am SO EXCITED!!!
Please pray that this would be a fruitful time, and that I would speak the Word with boldness! During my time there, I will also be speaking about the School and our vision, looking for people who have a heart for souls and full-time Work.
